Live in Arizona? Television can be a great time to kill time and enjoy a good laugh with family and friends over a funny program. But, sometimes a rainy day calls for something other than a remote in your hand. Despite the ever-improving technology of satellite TV, sometimes you need to do something a little different. Utilize these tips to enjoy activities that bond you as a family.
Get Creative!
Remember those old card games and board games you grew up with? Pull them out of the closet, blow the dust off, and relive memories of your youth with your children. Take a look at old photo albums of past family vacations and holidays. Have a laugh as you look back at great memories.
Hang Out in the Kitchen!
Make creative, tasty snacks and desserts as a family. Cookies are always fun, but try to think outside the box for a different kind of family experience in the kitchen. For example, if you remember a great recipe from a cooking show, try to replicate it without looking it up online.
Have a Dance-Off!
If you have children, this can be a great way to let off some steam and have some fun with your little ones. Use your CD player to pump the family-friendly tunes and give your children a fun, safe way to burn off some energy despite the bad weather outside.
Relax!
If your power is out because of the storm and watching TV, cooking, and listening to music aren’t options, relax with a good book, watch and listen to the rain, or take a nap instead. Down time is good for everyone these days with overly busy schedules.
TV outages happen more often than you might like, leaving everyone in the room with a blank stare. Sometimes it’s fun to pretend the TV has gone out so you can balance your TV watching time with social friend and family experiences. Even though just about every home in the US has a TV, it’s great to get creative sometimes. Your home holds hundreds of opportunities to have good, inventive fun without the TV.
