6. Roseanne – Roseanne Barr doesn’t look like most sitcom moms of the day, but that’s part of why this show was such a success.  It portrays a struggling family and real-life issues realistically alongside plenty of humor to lighten the mood.

7. Friends – This show became one of the most well-loved comedies of the 90s because of the then-unknown cast that came together to create memorable television.  David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, and Matt LeBlanc have all made names for themselves since the show ended in 2004.

8. The Simpsons – In its 20 seasons from 1989 until the present, this cartoon sitcom has become a classic among all ages.  Bart Simpson may be an underachiever, but the Emmy-winning series certainly is anything but underachieving.  The kooky family from Springfield continually makes fun of American family life and culture.

9. Seinfeld – This show led to a goldmine of comedy that kept audiences laughing from 1990-1998.  One of the most endearing qualities of the show is that the main characters are so un-endearing.  Seinfeld proved there was nothing wrong with that.

10. Frasier – This series sets the records for most Emmys won—37 during its running from 1993-2004.  The rare TV hit was loved by critics and fans alike.
