TV remotes today do a lot more than just turn your television on and off. But, they can be confusing to program if you don’t know what you’re doing. Thankfully, with the Dish Network remote, you can use it to work with your entertainment system. And, it only takes 6 simple steps.

It’s estimated that 40% of last year’s Super Bowl viewers weren’t even football fans! Why is that? Well, in addition to good friends, hearty laughter, tasty food (and cold beer), everyone loves the Super Bowl Commercials. After watching the event for years on local satellite TV, we’ve compiled our list of the top 10 Super Bowl advertisements since 2000 (Click the title of each ad to see the video):

10. Career Builders – “Working with Monkeys” (2005)

Ever have one of those jobs where nobody seemed to know what they were doing? The Career Builder chimps were so popular that they were featured in additional Super Bowl ads in 2006 and 2011.

9. Doritos – “Pug Attack” (2011)

A boyfriend teases his girlfriend’s pug with Doritos, then closes and stands behind a glass door. The pugnacious pug runs towards him, knocks the glass door down on top of the guy, and gets the Doritos.

8. Degree – “Stunt City” (2006)

A man applies his Degree Deodorant before leaving his apartment to go to work. He lives in “Stunt City” (not to be confused with “Sun City”) where people go about their everyday lives crashing through windows on their motorcycles and riding on the top of public transportation. Watch how he ironically hurts himself at the end.

7. Snickers – “Betty White” (2010)

A man with little energy is accused of “playing football like Betty White”. The 88-year-old actress makes an unexpected cameo, and is violently tacked like Matt Leinart.

6. Budweiser – “Rocky Horse” (2007)

Paying tribute to the 1976 Academy Award Best Picture “Rocky”, a Dalmatian serves as a personal trainer to a Clydesdale to help him become a member of the hitch team for the iconic horse-drawn wagon.

5. Electronic Data Systems – “Herding Cats” (2000)

Kitties and cowboys made this a favorite for both kids and adults, but the near-seamless special effects were the real MVP.

4. Budweiser – “Clydesdale Respect” (2002)

The commercial shows the horses walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. Then, they stop, gaze at the ruined New York skyline, and bow in reverence and respect. The commercial aired only once on TV.

3. eTrade – Trading Baby (2008)

This clever commercial is not only entertaining, but it effectively states the central message in a simple way “Buying and trading stock should be easy… very easy”.

2. FedEx – Castaway (2003)

This commercial spoofed the movie Castaway, in which Tom Hanks played a FedEx worker whose company plane went down, stranding him on a desert island for years. Wait till you see what’s inside of the FedEx package when it is finally delivered…

1. Reebok – Terry Tate, Office Linebacker (2003)

For anyone who ever wanted to tackle the schmuck who forgot to refill the office coffee pot, Reebok had the answer: Terry Tate, office linebacker.

There were so many good Super Bowl ads to choose from, it was hard to narrow the picks down to just ten. However, we’ve made it much easier to choose a satellite TV provider in Arizona. Channel Choice TV can easily set you up with DIRECTV or Dish Network so that you never have to miss another Super Bowl advertisement.

Tell us… what is your favorite Super Bowl commercial ever?

(Man Cave - n.) A dedicated area of a house, such as a basement, workshop, or garage, where a man can either be alone or socialize with his bros… of whom primarily visit to drink his beer and steal his Man Cave ideas.

Guys need a Man Cave, and killer Man Cave ideas, so they can create an exclusive space where they can hang out in their homes and not feel guilty about leaving the toilet seat up. A Man Cave serves as a refuge, a sanctuary where a man can get away from the pressures of everyday life. However, from time to time, he will want to break away from the personal cocoon and show off his Man Cave to his bros, especially during football season.

So, let’s push this Top Ten to the max, supply your man room with favorite creature comforts, and make other fellow Man Cave dwellers drool.

Channel Choice TV recommends the following “must have” items for your Man Cave:

1.	Big Screen TV with Surround Sound. Size does matter. If you can’t tell whether that last pass was caught by Larry Fitzgerald or Cardinals’ mascot “Big Red,” then your TV is too small.

2.	Stereo system. Nothing rejuvenates the soul, restores balance to the body, relieves stress, and lowers blood pressure quite like listening to AC/DC’s Thunderstuck at 85 decibels.

3.	Mini Fridge and Mini Microwave. These two items must be combined together as one recommendation. The only thing that can quench Man thirst is a Man drink (or six-pack). A mini fridge also serves as a safe haven for dinner leftovers to go before being introduced (or re-introduced) to Mr. Microwave.

4.	Comfortable “Man Chair.” This can be your typical plush recliner, but the cool factor goes through the roof when it’s constructed from the bucket seat of a 1967 El Camino.

5.	Personal Trophies and Awards. These serve as reminders of the glory years. Note: If you do buy additional trophies from Goodwill, make sure any year engraved in the plaque does not pre-date the year you were born.

6.	Wall Décor. Depending upon personal preferences, this could include neon or metal pub signs, sports team pennants, movie posters, license plates, or mounted deer heads. We recommend you stay away from anything frilly, pink, or bearing the likeness of Pee Wee Herman.

7.	Vintage, Antique, or Rare Pieces. The more inclined a bro is to ask “What is that?”, the better. This will allow you to dominate a conversation longer by talking about your artillery shell from the Mexican-American War.

8.	Pool Table. Depending upon the size of the room, a bumper pool table, air hockey, pinball machine, or classic arcade game could be considered an acceptable substitute. Points are deducted from your overall Man Cave grade if you showcase a Ms. Pac-Man game.

9. Something with John Wayne on it. Most guys know this, but any item with John Wayne on it secretly emits testosterone molecules into the air.

10. Bobbleheads. When the rest of the world bombards you with the word “no”, it’s great to surround yourself with little “yes men” who always wear a cheesy smile and shake their heads up and down.

A Man Cave, when crafted with the ultimate “bromanship”, can become the perfect get-away. Channel Choice TV hopes that you are able to create a Man Cave that surpasses your wildest dreams.

Tell us about your Man Cave ideas! And be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter!

Looking back at the best shows of the 70s, 80s, and 90s makes many people suddenly become nostalgic. In the 70s, who knew that technology would morph beyond households having more than one (probably black and white) TV set without a remote and only capable of picking up three or four channels? The early days of TV in the everyday American’s home was a time of pure entertainment before Dish Network and reruns. Here are some notable TV memories from yesteryear.

1970s

The Hardy Boys Nancy Drew Mysteries series aired for three seasons with several actresses playing Nancy Drew. Shaun Cassidy rose to teen idol status during the show’s time in the spotlight from 1977 to 1979.

Hee Haw started up in 1969 and topped many families’ TV viewing schedules throughout the 1970s. Guest stars like George Jones, Jessi Colter, Waylon Jennings, Dolly Parton, Charlie Pride, and Eddie Rabbitt made this show a real treat.

Other memorable shows from the 70s include Wonder Woman, All in the Family, Bewitched, Three’s Company, Love Boat, M*A*S*H, the Partridge Family, and Taxi.

1980s

Magnum P.I., starring heart throb Tom Selleck, was a crime show with a cast of entertaining characters. It ran for several seasons, enthralling men and women alike with its storylines.

Cheers offered many laughs to devoted viewers. It ran for 11 seasons from 1982 to 1993. Countless guest stars including Jay Thomas, Tom Skerritt, Roger Rees, and Senator John Kerry made every episode entertaining.

Other memorable shows from the 80s include Full House, Dallas, Who’s the Boss, Happy Days, Diff’rent Strokes, Family Ties, General Hospital, and Saved by the Bell.

1990s

7th Heaven revolved around the life of a loving Christian family with 7 children. The drama they faced was very real-life and served as an entertaining way to face serious family issues.

Beverley Hills 90210 was a teen drama that focused on the lives of wealthy kids from this area of California. The show demonstrated some of the comparisons between poorer children and the neglected kids of super rich parents, reminding viewers that money doesn’t buy happiness.

Other memorable shows from the 90s include Friends, Lois and Clark Home Improvement, NYPD Blue, Everybody Loves Raymond, and That 70s Show.

Today

It’s great to be nostalgic and remember the old TV shows from before DIRECTV or Dish Network. It takes you back to your childhood and brings good memories to the surface. Many of these old shows are being aired again for your enjoyment on local satellite TV, and there are plenty of new TV shows to delve into as well.

Throw the Ultimate Fantasy Football Draft Party

Fantasy draft day…the most important day of the fantasy football season. If you have a bad draft, it can seriously hamper your chances of winning the league. Host a bad fantasy football draft party, and your friends have 365 days to remind you of your lameness. In fact, they may exact their revenge by vetoing any trade you want to make throughout the season. Here are some draft party tips from Channel Choice TV to prevent you from fumbling the responsibility:

Fantasy Football Draft Party

1.	Plan ahead. Make sure the date, time, and place for the draft party is agreeable to most of the players (except for the league “jerk” who is only playing because he’s someone’s roommate, and without him you’d have an odd number of teams).

2.	Keep the finger foods, chips and dip coming throughout the draft. A 15-round fantasy draft with 12 teams can take over 3 hours to complete. A large supply of snacks, chips, and dips are a necessity like air or water. By making sure everyone’s blood sugar level stays balanced, you’ll be able to tell if someone is simply trash talking, or whether they are irritated due to hunger pangs. Bowls and cans should be strategically positioned within easy reach of most drafters. It’s also a good idea, if hosting in your home, to vacuum the carpet in the draft room before guests arrive so that you can remove the remnants of chips and dip from last year’s football draft party.

3.	Keep the beer flowing. Beer keeps your party legit (after all…“draft beer” was created for fantasy drafts, right?). Plus, as beer intake increases, the greater chance that one of your opponents will pick a kicker in the 5th round. A good host will also provide soft drinks for those under the legal drinking age, those who don’t drink alcohol, or those who lost a bet and must serve as a designated driver.

4.	Decorate the house in a football theme. Display the league trophy. Make a poster showing last season’s final standings (unless your team was really bad). Offer face paint, eye black, or one of your mom’s old wigs for your guests if they didn’t come to the party prepared. A draft party affords you an opportunity to wear last year’s Halloween costume again, and no one will even raise an eyebrow.

5.	Make sure draft rules are understood beforehand. Implement a 90-second time limit for picks to keep the action moving. The commissioner can serve as timekeeper, unless there is an innocent, non-drafting bystander who doesn’t mind taking verbal abuse. A large draft board (typically $10-$50) can ensure that no one picks a player that’s already been selected (of course, there’s always that guy who will mistakenly do it anyway!).

It’s also important to list a couple of things not to do at a fantasy draft party. These include:
•	Neglecting to make sure the bathroom is in good working order with plenty of soap and toilet paper. Most guests will be there at least once (unless they have some sort of undisclosed medical condition).
•	Showing up wearing a Matt Leinart jersey. This is a NO may result in the forfeiture of your 1st and 2nd round picks.

Channel Choice TV wishes you much success with your fantasy football draft party. What tips can you give to ensure a fun time? What mistakes have you seen made in the past?
Watching television is something you do for yourself on your own time. It’s a pastime that acts as an escape from the stress of daily life. Because of this, you may run across a show that you don’t think you should be watching, or even think you want to watch, but the program draws you in and you find yourself returning to it week after week. These are your guilty pleasure TV shows. There are many shows that may fit the bill, but here are the top four programs you may choose to watch on your local satellite TV, whether you choose to admit it to your friends and coworkers or not.

Glee
Of course, this probably only falls into the guilty pleasure category for TV watchers who are masculine, heterosexual males. Women tend to have no problem admitting that they watch this program, but any manly man who admits to liking this show in public will certainly experience some retribution. For that reason, Glee is the first guilty pleasure TV show that you can access on Dish Network.

Dancing with the Stars
Those who consider this their guilty pleasure program of choice watch it because of the parade of sequins, exposed body parts, fake tans, awkward moments, and idiotic comments that simply make it entertaining to watch. It’s one of those shows that viewers will watch for a bit, flip to a different program, and then return to see more gaudy outfits and hair extensions. As a show that tends to draw viewers back in, it certainly makes the list of guilty pleasure TV shows.

Cartoons
Any show that’s designed for the entertainment of children under the age of 12 falls into this category. Have you ever tried to explain to your date the reason for the assortment of 1980s cartoons in your video collection? If you have, it probably wasn’t successful. Your best bet is probably to hide your cartoon DVDs and make no mention of Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and other juvenile channels that you frequent on DIRECTV.

Antiques Roadshow
Watching the appraisal of antiques can actually be fun. The feeling of jealousy that arises from the fact that someone could have a small fortune because their grandmother gave them an obscure object that they never appreciated until Antiques Roadshow came on the air can be quite satisfying in a masochistic kind of way. That’s why this program makes its way onto the list of guilty pleasure TV shows.

Watching TV is certainly entertaining, if not a complete waste of time. If you get guilty pleasure out of watching any of these shows, you aren’t alone, even if no one else is willing to admit it. Maybe it’s time for the world to come forward and admit to their guilty pleasures—then again, perhaps ignorance is bliss.

If you want satellite TV in Arizona from Dish Network or DIRECTV, how do you get it? If your like most consumers, you call the number in the print ad or sign-up online. But is that the best way to go? What about contacting a local authorized dealer?

They’re going to do the job anyway
When you sign-up with one through one of those national marketing efforts, who do you think will do the installation? That’s right. They’re going to contact the local authorized dealer for your area who will come out and install the service. Why not cut out the middleman and bureaucracy and go straight to the source?

It will save you money
You will usually get the best deal from a local authorized dealer. After all, they can offer the same discounts and programs you see online, and they don’t need to pay someone else to do the installation.

You’ve got a friend
If you have a problem, you have a real person you can contact. If you want to change your service by upgrading or installing additional equipment, you know who you can turn to. It can certainly help eliminate the frustration and anxiety of dealing with impersonal national customer service departments.

You’ve got choices
Many local authorized dealers can provide you with both Dish Network and DIRECTV. They can help you choose between them to get exactly what you need. They also often offer long-distance and internet options. You won’t find those extras in any print advertising supplement.

Don’t wait
Contact a satellite TV local authorized dealer now to help you narrow your choices. If you’re in the Tucson, Arizona area Channel Choice TV will be happy to help you make the choice between Dish Network and DIRECTV as well as provide long-distance or internet connections.
